What does this calculator estimate?
A grade calculator converts the points you earned into a percentage and a letter grade. Divide points earned by points possible and multiply by 100 — for example, 85 of 100 points is 85%, a B. How to read the result
The calculator shows your percentage, letter grade, and — when it is reachable — exactly how many more points you need for the next letter grade. Use the same logic for any weighted portion by entering the earned and possible points for that portion only.
Points needed, not percentage needed
Because grades here are points-based, the gap to the next letter is a points number, not a percentage. If you need 90% of 100 possible points and have 85, the gap is 5 points — independent of how many exam points remain.

Percentage = points earned ÷ points possible × 100. Letter grade uses the standard 90/80/70/60 thresholds (A/B/C/D), and points-to-next equals the next threshold percent of possible points minus points earned.
Worked example
