Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2026
BoringToolsKit provides free browser-based tools. This policy explains what data we do and do not collect.
No account required
You can use our tools without creating an account. We do not require personal information to view or use calculators.
Local-only calculations
Paycheck and other calculations run in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or log input values, results, or personal financial data on our servers.
Device storage, installation, and sharing
If you install BoringToolsKit or use it offline, a service worker may cache static pages, scripts, styles, fonts, and icons on your device. Calculator inputs and results are not added to that cache. Your theme preference may be stored locally in your browser.
Copy Link, Share, Email, Bookmark, and Add to Phone actions use the page title and canonical URL by default. They do not include calculator inputs or results unless you manually add that information after leaving the site.
Browser-storage inventory and controls
The following storage is limited to this browser profile. BoringToolsKit does not sync these values to an account. Browser controls can also clear site data and offline caches.
Purpose: theme, scenery, and interface choices. Retention: until changed or cleared. Default: theme and visited-state metadata may be written during ordinary use. Clear: use the button below or browser site-data controls.
Purpose: remember tool names and paths for local navigation. Retention: bounded recent list until cleared. Default: enabled locally without storing entered values or results. Clear: use the button below.
Purpose: reuse selected non-identity calculator assumptions. Retention: until replaced or cleared. Default: opt-in only after Save. Clear: use each scenario control or the button below.
Purpose: remember timer scene/settings and, when enabled, bounded completion history. Retention: history is capped at 90 records; preferences remain until cleared. Default: history is opt-in. Clear: use timer history controls or the button below.
Purpose: retain explicitly saved scientific-calculator history or converter pairs. Retention: bounded by each tool until cleared. Default: opt-in. Clear: use the tool control or the button below.
Purpose: remember the local aggregate-measurement opt-out and coarse visited flag. Retention: until changed or cleared. Default: outcome measurement remains deployment-controlled and honors GPC/DNT; the local choice persists. Clear: use the measurement controls or the button below.
This clears BoringToolsKit local-storage keys on this device; browser-managed offline cache can be cleared in site settings.
Aggregate outcome measurement
When this feature is explicitly enabled for a deployed environment, the browser may send a small same-origin JSON event to /api/events to measure aggregate tool completion and next actions. A valid tool completion is the primary conversion; result actions and related-tool continuation are secondary diagnostics. The request contains no identifiers or calculation values in the outcome dataset.
The allowed request excludes calculator inputs, result values, free text, query strings, hashes, referrers, IP addresses, user agents, geolocation, campaign IDs, random IDs, and URL-encoded state. It contains only an allowed event name, canonical pathname, controlled source category, and a coarse local new-or-returning flag. D1 persists the event, path, source category, and server timestamp; it does not persist the cohort flag.
Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track, and the local opt-out on this page prevent remote outcome requests. The same-origin Cloudflare Pages Function writes privacy-bounded raw events to D1; each raw event expires after 30 days. The daily maintenance job normally aggregates and deletes each closed UTC day on the following day; the 30-day expiry and opportunistic cleanup are fail-safe limits if maintenance is delayed. Daily aggregate counts retain only day, event, canonical path, count, and bounded timestamps for 395 days; they contain no calculation values, cohort flags, source labels, or identity fields.
Cloudflare still processes network metadata at the edge to deliver and protect the site even though BoringToolsKit does not place that metadata in the outcome dataset.
This control updates local browser storage only.
Advertising
Advertising is loaded only when a verified advertising account is configured. We may use approved networks, including Google AdSense. When active, third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
If we have not opted out of third-party ad serving, cookies from other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this site.
Affiliate links
Clearly labeled sponsored recommendations may use affiliate links. We may receive a commission if you use one, without changing your price. Affiliate partners do not receive calculator inputs or results from us.
Third-party links
We may link to external resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Data deletion and rights
Because we do not store personal calculation data, there is no user database to delete from. For privacy questions, use our direct contact page.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
