How these pet tools work
Pet age conversion uses size-class curves for dogs (small, medium, large, and giant breeds age at measurably different rates) and a simpler curve for cats. Feeding amounts come from standard maintenance energy estimates scaled by weight and life stage. Adult-weight prediction extrapolates a puppy's current age and weight along breed-class growth curves, and cost estimates sum the recurring line items you enter.
Each page states its curve and assumptions, so a result is checkable rather than a black box.
Choosing a tool
Use the age converter for vet-form or insurance age bands, the feeding calculator as a starting point that you adjust to body condition, the weight predictor during the first year, and the cost tool for budgeting the decision to get a pet, which is the use most people actually need.
Honest limits
Breed curves are population averages; an individual dog can sit outside its class curve. Feeding calculators estimate maintenance needs and ignore medical diets. None of this replaces a veterinarian, and the pages say so directly.
