## How it works

Forecasts combine current observations with hourly and daily model output from Open-Meteo. Current conditions show temperature, feels-like, humidity, precipitation, and wind; the 7-day view shows daily high/low and precipitation probability.

## Worked example

Searching London returns current temperature and a 7-day forecast with each day's high/low, UV index, and chance of rain — sourced from the Open-Meteo weather model.

## Assumptions

- Forecasts come from the Open-Meteo weather model and are estimates, not guarantees.
- Conditions are reported for the city center and can vary by neighborhood.
- Weather changes quickly; re-check near the time you need an accurate forecast.
- Your city search is sent to Open-Meteo only to fetch the forecast — no location is stored or tracked.

## Common questions

### Does this weather tool track my location?

No. You type a city name and it's sent to Open-Meteo only to fetch that city's forecast. Nothing is stored, and your browser location is never used.

### How accurate is the forecast?

Open-Meteo uses standard weather models. Accuracy is highest for the next 1-3 days and decreases further out, which is typical for all forecasts.

### What does UV index mean?

UV index measures sun intensity on a 0-11+ scale. Higher values mean faster sunburn risk — 3+ needs protection, 8+ is very high.

### Can I see the forecast in Fahrenheit?

Yes. Choose Fahrenheit in the units selector and all temperatures display in °F.
