## How it works

Pavers = ceiling of (area x 1.05) / paver area; cost = pavers x price per paver.

## Worked example

A 300 sq ft patio using 1 sq ft pavers needs about 315 pavers with the 5% cutting allowance.

## Assumptions

- A 5% cutting allowance is added before rounding up.
- Paver area is in square feet; convert inches by dividing by 144.

## Common questions

### How much extra should I order?

About 5% for straight layouts and up to 10% for diagonal patterns or irregular edges.

### How do I price the job?

Multiply the paver count by the per-paver price, then add base material and sand, typically 4 to 6 inches deep.
