## Answer

Marketplace fee comparison: estimate Amazon seller contribution profit with editable fee and cost assumptions.

## How it works

Contribution profit = sale price − referral fee − fulfillment fee − storage/other fees − product cost − inbound shipping. Break-even price and target-profit price solve the same model in reverse.

## Worked example

For a $35 product with 15% referral fee, $4.75 fulfillment, $0.25 storage, $11.50 product cost, and $0.90 inbound shipping, contribution profit is about $12.35 before advertising, returns, taxes, and overhead.

## Assumptions

- User-entered fee values must be checked against current Amazon marketplace/category/fulfillment rules.
- Advertising, return loss, tax, packaging, and overhead are not included unless entered separately.
- This version is editable-arithmetic; category/size-tier intelligence is a future flagship-tool upgrade.

## Common questions

### Does this support every Amazon marketplace?

The arithmetic is general, but you must enter fees and currency appropriate to the marketplace.

### Is advertising included?

Not in the default fields. Subtract expected ad cost when evaluating true contribution profit.

### Why can actual FBA fees differ?

Size tier, shipping weight, storage period, category, and program rules affect charges.

### What is an Amazon referral fee?

The referral fee is the percentage Amazon charges per sale. It varies by product category (commonly 8–15%) and is calculated on the item's sale price. This calculator's referral-rate input lets you enter your category's rate to see its effect on net profit.

### How do I calculate my Amazon seller fee and profit?

Subtract the referral fee, fulfillment fee, storage and other fees, product cost, and inbound shipping from your sale price. This calculator does that for you with editable assumptions so you can model FBA vs FBM or different categories and see the resulting net profit per sale.
